A flurry of visitors were directed to this site by the news of 
"The first world atlas of the artificial night sky brightness" .

On August 15 visits to the IDA Web Site reached 2151
In the ten day period Aug.  8-18 we received 10,351 visitors.

This is the largest "known" number of visits since the week of November 22, 1998, when Parade magazine published "Our Wasted Light,"  by noted astronomer and Parade Magazine Science Editor David H. Levy. 
This publication reaches nearly 85 million readers.  Reprints of "Our Wasted Light" are available from IDA.
