Funding -
IDA is a membership
based organization. As such, its primary source of funds is through membership.
The
International Dark-Sky Association was incorporated in 1988 as a tax-exempt,
non-profit organization, exclusively for educational and scientific purposes
within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue
Code of 1987 (IDA’s Federal Identification Number is 74-2493011). IDA
operates under formal bylaws, established at the time of incorporation and
revised at the first annual meeting, February 1989, and again in September
1990, April 1999, and May 2000.
Donations
-
We need your help to fight the
problem of light pollution. Urban light glow destroys the beauty of
our night skies and wastes an enormous amount of energy. IDA is a non-profit
educational organization. For USA tax returns, IDA's 501(c)(3) status
allows donations to be deductible if you itemize.
Donations
are always welcome, and your membership is most valuable, please
consider joining IDA at any of the many membership levels. Consider giving an
additional donation at time of membership or membership renewal, and a gift membership or a Lifetime Membership as a gift or remembrance.
